How often will the farmer come to my yard?
The farmers will be at your home on a weekly scheduled visit.
At this time, we will weed, harvest, and do any
additional plantings necessary.
Do you use synthethics of any
kind?
No! we use organic methods for pest control, such as keeping
the farm tidy of weeds, mulching and watering.
We only use natural fertilizers, organic seeds and transplants.
What is organic gardening and why is it beneficial?
Organic gardening uses no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or
fertilizers. An organic farmer aims to create
a healthy, balanced soil that supports many creatures such as beetles,
worms, bacteria, fungi, etc. The
healthy soil together with the healthy habitat should lead to a healthy
productive farm.
Synthetic pesticides harm more than their target insect. They can kill
many different types of insects at
one time. Organic farmers work to control just the pest insects. Also,
the salts in synthetic fertilizers
can harm soil organisms, especially worms. The fillers in synthetic
fertilizers are not listed or regulated
by
the government.
A company can put anything they want into those bags and we would have
no way of
knowing what it is. Manufacturing
and using synthetic fertilizers is not environmentally friendly.
By using organic gardening practices, we strive to grow the best
tasting, most nutritious vegetables
without harming the environment.
